Who We Are

The story of United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union began over 60 years ago. Throughout our history, we have been dedicated to creating a trusted and valuable financial resource for the United Methodist community.

Georgia Methodist Federal Credit Union was established in 1960 and served the financial needs of any United Methodist Church member in the North and South Georgia Conferences and their immediate family members.

Alabama-West Florida Methodist Credit Union started in 1967, serving the clergy and employees of the AWF Conference.

Florida United Methodist Credit Union was formed in 1969 by ministers in the conference. It served the ministers, employees and members of the United Methodist Churches in the Florida United Methodist conference.

The mergers began in 2005 when Georgia Methodist Federal Credit Union was approached by the Florida United Methodist Credit Union with the proposal to unite. It seemed a perfect fit since both credit unions were serving the same potential membership with similar products, just in adjacent states.

In 2012, Georgia Florida United Methodist Federal Credit Union merged with the Alabama-West Florida Methodist Credit Union, uniting two credit unions and connecting four United Methodist Conferences into one strong financial institution that serves the ministers, employees and members of the United Methodist Churches in the North Georgia, South Georgia, Florida and Alabama-West Florida Conferences.

Now we are the United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union, highlighting our ties to the mission and passion of the United Methodist Church and our members. The combination will provide the entire membership with expanded services and multiple locations of service.
