Share Savings Accounts

There are plenty of reasons to save: retirement, a child's education, a special occasion or just the security of putting away money for the future. Whatever your reason, United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union has a savings product that's right for you.

Savings Accounts

When you become a member of the credit union a savings account is opened in your name. An initial deposit of $5 is required. All members must maintain a $5 balance in their savings account to remain a member, and demonstrate regular activity in their account to keep it open.

Other features of Regular Savings include:

• Withdrawals: To withdraw money from your savings account, simply stop by a credit union branch or go to an ATM terminal.
• Savings can be used as collateral for a loan
• Monthly or quarterly statements by mail or eStatement

Christmas Club

At United Methodist Connectional FCU, you can open a Christmas Club account and save for that special time of year. The Christmas Club year runs from November through the first Monday the following November.

Features included in the Christmas Club Account include:

• No minimum balance required
• Account balance automatically sent to members on maturity, either by check or deposit into a share account.
• Account automatically reopens for the following year, for your convenience

Share Savings Certificates

You can open a Regular Share Certificate with a minimum balance of $1,000.

Features of our Share Certificates include:

• A fixed dividend for the term of the certificate.
• Certificates are available with terms of three months to 5 years.
• Our Share Certificates can be used for your Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

Money Market Accounts

With a minimum deposit of $2,500, you may begin enjoying the flexibility that a Money Market Savings Account offers. You earn competitive dividend rates and dividends are paid to your account monthly on the average daily balance. You are not limited to a set period of time with this account, which gives you the flexibility to have your funds available immediately.

Special Share Savings Accounts

At the credit union, you may have up to three additional savings accounts under your member account. You will appreciate this special account when vacations, your child's tuition bill, insurance, taxes and other occasions are upon you. You may make deposits into these accounts on your own or utilize convenient payroll deduction/ACH (Automated Clearing House) service. This account is a great way to keep special savings needs separate from your normal savings accounts.
